Carbon Sulphur & Paint

Carbon, Sulphur and Paint was devised to celebrate the arrival in Harrogate, Yorkshire of the Grand Depart 2014 and the world’s greatest cycling race - the Tour de France.

Presented by acclaimed fine artist James Straffon, RedHouse Originals and Poliform North the concept highlighted Yorkshire’s heritage and unrivalled history with the world’s greatest cycling race - the Tour de France.

The nature and scale of the events involved within Carbon, Sulphur and Paint made it one of the most ambitious and innovative experiences available to the public during the Grand Depart. The project comprised an art exhibition, a pop-up cycling museum, a large scale public mural and exclusive event ale brewed especially to mark this historic occasion in Yorkshire’s history.
